Electrical Discharge Machining is the process of removing extra material from a workpiece using an electric spark. An electrode connected to a power source generates the spark. The electric field between the electrode and the workpiece creates an arc of electricity as it approaches the workpiece. This arc causes the material on the workpiece’s surface to vaporize, resulting in the formation of a crater.
