The Hunger Games” is a 2012 dystopian sci-fi film directed by Gary Ross, based on Suzanne Collins’ novel. Set in the future, the nation of Panem is divided into 12 districts, each forced to send a boy and girl to compete in the annual Hunger Games, a televised death match. Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) volunteers to take her sister’s place. With fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), Katniss must survive the deadly arena using her skills and intelligence.
