Landlord Carl Haglund in Seattle believes that the constraints put in place during the pandemic are to responsible for an increase in rent skippers.
Haglund claims that the issue is that the city just established new legislation that makes it more difficult for us to successfully evict the tenants and raises the cost of doing so under this COVID ban.
Haglund cited the case of a particular tenant—KING 5 will withhold his name—who allegedly hasn’t cleaned up after his animals in months. Haglund claims that the tenant is also delinquent on rent. Ten percent or more of the landlord’s numerous tenants, according to estimation, are behind on their rent.
