June 20, 2023 ⚊ 1 Min read ⚊ Views 46 ⚊ BLOGNail polish has a long and fascinating history that dates back to ancient times. The earliest evidence of nail polish use was found in China, where archaeologists discovered a tomb containing the remains of a woman with her nails painted red. This suggests that nail polish was used in China as early as 3000 BC. In ancient Egypt, nail polish was also used as a status symbol. The color of a person’s nails was often used to indicate their social class. For example, only the pharaoh and his family were allowed to wear red nail polish. Nail polish was also used in ancient Greece and Rome. In Greece, women would often paint their nails with a mixture of beeswax, egg whites, and vegetable dyes. In Rome, women would use a variety of different colors to paint their nails, including red, blue, and green. Nail polish fell out of fashion during the Middle Ages, but it made a comeback in the 19th century. In the early 1900s, nail polish was still relatively expensive.
