Swoop Airlines: The Newest Low-Cost Airline in Canada
May 20, 2023 ⚊ 1 Min read ⚊ Views 69 ⚊ NEWSSwoop Airlines is a Canadian ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) owned by WestJet. The airline is headquartered in Calgary and was named after WestJet’s desire to “swoop” (or jump) into the Canadian market with a new business model. Swoop Airlines offers a variety of low-cost fares, but passengers must pay for many amenities that are typically included in the price of a ticket on other airlines. For example, checked bags, carry-on bags, and seat assignments all cost extra. Swoop also does not offer in-flight meals or drinks, so passengers must bring their own.
