Though the Linksys app makes setting up very easy, you can also manually configure your AX1800 Extender. This will suit advanced users who want full control and flexibility. First of all, get the default IP address of the extender in the device’s documentation. Open that IP address using a web browser to open the web-based interface of the extender. The on-screen instructions allow you to connect the extender to your primary router’s Wi-Fi network. It will request a Wi-Fi band from you: 2.4GHz or 5GHz. Now, you can modify such settings as Wi-Fi security, guest network access, and others straight from the web interface.
