400 series stainless steel coil is a stainless steel coil composed of iron, chromium, nickel, and other alloying elements. It has excellent mechanical properties, manufactured by smelting, rolling, and annealing. The 400 series includes ferritic steels and martensitic steels. Ferritic steels are non-hardening steels, that are very suitable for high-temperature conditions and can be used in automotive exhaust systems, heat exchangers, furnaces, appliances, etc.; martensitic steels can be hardened, ideal for a variety of everyday uses such as cutlery, sport knives, and more. Compared to 300 series stainless steel coils, 400 series stainless steel coils have increased chromium and manganese content, higher carbon content, and slightly less corrosion resistance, but higher strength and higher wear resistance in a wide range of applications.
